PROFILE OF FOUNDATIONS STUDENTS
The typical student in the Foundations program:
- Is of average or above average intelligence.
- Has a combination of the learning challenges noted below.
- Does not have severe intellectual, cognitive, emotional or behavioral disorders that would significantly affect his or her ability to participate in the program.
- Does not have acquired brain injury or moderate to severe autism spectrum disorder.
Students entering the Foundations program commonly struggle with a range of challenges including:
- Auditory processing
- Dyslexia
- Writing / Dysgraphia
- Reading
- Comprehension
- Auditory and/or visual memory
- Mathematics / Problem solving
- Non-verbal learning
- Logical reasoning
- Processing speed
- Attention
- Lack of self-confidence
