There are no other schools in our area that offer the same all inclusive full-time program for children with learning difficulties. Our unique approach incorporates lessons and exercises that address our students’ cognitive, academic, and social/emotional needs, all within their school-day.
Foundations has a student-teacher ratio of 4:1, and our classrooms max at 16 students. Each student is assessed and works at a pace and level that is appropriate for his or her particular needs. In order to ensure that students are connected socially to others in their peer group, Foundations students attend recess, lunch, and school activities with the mainstream students in their grade. They also have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular school activities, such as sports tournaments, music, dance, art, fitness club, and more. Our High School students are offered the option to pursue a High School Diploma, or to participate in our Certificate of Completion program.
ASSESSMENT TESTING & PROGRESS MONITORING
Parents meet with their child’s Educational Support Team at the beginning of each school year to discuss assessment results, as well as at the end of each school year to review their child’s progress and growth. The three areas assessed and reviewed include: cognitive testing, academic assessments, and social/emotional evaluations.
A HIGHLY QUALIFIED EDUCATIONAL TEAM THAT DEVELOPS AN INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PLAN FOR YOUR CHILD
Your child’s team will consist of a group of highly qualified educators, who will be personally involved in working together to develop and implement an education plan designed to promote maximum growth.

PARENT SUPPORT
Parenting a child who learns differently is a challenging experience, which is why we put a lot of value in providing support to the amazing parents of our students. Our parents are provided with the following on-going support:
Foundations Parent Portal – Providing real-time access to your child’s daily schedule, effort scores, lesson progress, student records, school news, encouraging blogs, educational articles and videos, and more.
Check-in Meetings – In addition to the two assessment and progress review parent meetings that we schedule each school year, our “open door policy” allows parents to schedule check-in meetings anytime they have questions or are in need of support.
Parent Support Group Coffee Meetings – Connect with other parents and find encouragement by attending one of our Parent Coffee Meetings.
HOPE: Parenting Kids Who Learn Differently Podcast – Hosted by our School Director, Jimelle Carlson, to provide weekly encouragement and support to parents.
Personal Connection – At Foundations, you will not just be a face in the crowd. You are part of the “Foundations Family,” and we are here to support and encourage you through all of the ups and downs that come with parenting.
